The workshop was hosted by SUNY Syracuse, the official Northeast Regional Your Town Center, and co-sponsored by the Center for Community Character, a nonprofit planning and design firm providing technical assistance to southern New England communities. It marked the 17th Your Town workshop held nationally, and the fifth in the northeast. Between September 1-3, over 30 regional leaders gathered for design lectures, group engagements, case study presentations, and the culminating Your Town workshop based on a hypothetical rural town in New England. Programming aimed to address the specific needs of the rural northeast, particularly Rhode Island and Coastal New England.
