The workshop’s local co-sponsor was the University of Wisconsin Extension, in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin River Falls and the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The keynote speaker was Daniel Marcel from the Design Center for American Urban Landscape at University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.
Between March 20-22, regional leaders gathered for design lectures, group engagements, a bus tour of local natural resources, case study presentations, and the culminating Your Town workshop based on a hypothetical rural town in West Central Wisconsin. Programming aimed to address the specific needs and issues of rural Wisconsin, particularly the West Central region.
