Workshops
October 29-31, 1995
Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania

Bloomsburg, PA

This workshop was held in 1995 in rural northeastern Pennsylvania at the historic McGee’s Main Street Inn.

The workshop was hosted by SUNY Syracuse, following its official designation as the Northeast Regional Your Town Center, and sponsored by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. It marked the 10th Your Town workshop held nationally, and the second in the northeast. Between October 29-31, over 30 regional leaders gathered for design lectures, case study presentations, a field trip, and the culminating Your Town workshop. Programming aimed to address the specific needs of rural Pennsylvania and, in particular, those areas which participated in the 1995 International Countryside Stewardship Exchange—a program, spurred by concurrent brownfield redevelopment projects in the region, that focused on sharing knowledge and best practices related to environmental land management within agricultural landscapes.
