Reedley, CA

In 2003, the first California Your Town workshop took place in Reedley, a small river town located in the San Joaquin Valley.

The workshop, titled “The Kings River Region: Navigating the Currents of Change,” focused on the interconnected economic, conservation, and cultural heritage issues associated with the Kings River corridor. Presenting partners included El Rio de los Reyes en Reedley Conservation Trust; the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program of the National Park Service (NPS), and the City of Reedley. Between June 11-13, over 30 regional leaders gathered for design lectures, group engagements, case study presentations, a site visit, and the culminating Your Town workshop based on real-world design challenges and opportunities in the Kings River region.
